actually i have 3:
1. overheard a boy ardently explaining to his mother yesterday the reason the subway attacks in london weren't avoided:
"... it's because the liberals won't let us just bomb them."
2. lots of hootin' style laughter followed this intermission joke at the rodeo last night:
"what do hiroshima and baghdad have in common? ... nothin' yet."
i know, it's a rodeo. what did i expect?
3. license plate ring:
"give jesus a chance, he died for the opportunity"
i think jesus said something about a money back guarantee too. it seems kind of wierd that they didn't add that.
Here's one to add to the first two comments, fitting nicely into the same category:
It's a Holocaust joke I heard from a German friend at a party last weekend.
"Hitler is walking through a concentration camp and comes upon a disrespectful little . The sticks her tongue out at him and taunts, 'you may be the Fuehrer after all, but I'm gonna be FOUR next week!'
Hitler responds, 'want to bet?' "
Now I have to qualify that for any unsuspecting readers (because I know someone out there would get the wrong idea)...
My posting of the previous joke was not meant as an affirmation of Fascist American jokes and comments. It was to show what ties us to imperialist cultures throughout history...the ability to laugh at the death and suffering of our enemies.
