Here's why:
1. Pat Robertson should be assassinated;
2. The majority of anthropoligists are heartless;
3. New tribes needs to quit pushing its wacked eschatology.
Posted by jeff at November 21, 2005 09:44 AM | TrackBackIf well-intentioned American missionaries truly want to serve Christ and others selflessly without invoking the suspicion of their host country (one which is openly threatened by their Homeland, who's CIA was openly involved in an attempted coup a couple of years ago), here's a couple of suggestions for them:
-Offer a background check showing no prior involvement with the Christian Coalition, the Moral Majority, or any other American pro-imperialist religious groups.
-Provide proof of membership in a progressive American party--Green, Peace and Freedom, Socialist, etc. (no, Democrat doesn't count...though it may still get you kicked out of your home church).
-renounce your US citizenship. As long as our country is aggresively postured towards Venezuela, your nationality will evoke suspicion.
-volunteer to assassinate Pat Robertson.
etcetera.
of course, an easier solution would be for our country to mind its own damn business...but, in the meantime, true missionaries will have to decide where their loyalty ultimately lies..and make the necessary sacrifices.
