I've been taking a journey through my old cd's since I have to spend so much stinkin' time on the road now. I'm on Bad Religion recently. It has taken a lot of work to scrub off the residual pessimism from all the time I spent listening to them growing up. But it's actually quite refreshing to come across the level of potency so much of their music expresses. I think I've pinpointed how I can love music so much and yet be totally unmoved by a lot of the music I hear now.
corrupt city council member ralph inzunza thanks judge for the fair trial in which he was found guilty, then proceeds to maintain that he did nothing against the law
actually i have 3:
1. overheard a boy ardently explaining to his mother yesterday the reason the subway attacks in london weren't avoided:
"... it's because the liberals won't let us just bomb them."
2. lots of hootin' style laughter followed this intermission joke at the rodeo last night:
"what do hiroshima and baghdad have in common? ... nothin' yet."
i know, it's a rodeo. what did i expect?
3. license plate ring:
"give jesus a chance, he died for the opportunity"
i think jesus said something about a money back guarantee too. it seems kind of wierd that they didn't add that.
